Keeping IPUMS data accessible for all.

For over 30 years IPUMS has been democratizing access to valuable population data that inform our understanding of the world. IPUMS data are available free of charge - funded largely through federal grants. IPUMS has become an integral part of the health and social science research infrastructure, with nine major data collections covering 2.6 billion person records from 160 countries and over 32,500 publications on Google Scholar citing IPUMS.

We need your help!

IPUMS remains committed to making the world’s largest and most intensively used database on the human population freely available. We are preparing to launch the IPUMS Alliance, a sustainability initiative to ensure the long-run accessibility of this critical resource.
