Description
AHTUS-X is a part of IPUMS Time Use, dedicated to making time use data easier for researchers to use. American Heritage Time Use Study (AHTUS) is a database of national time-diary samples collected over six decades, from 1965 to the present. Data includes harmonized variables describing background, activity, location, mode of transport and who else was present. AHTUS-X is a collaboration between the Maryland Population Research Center, the Centre for Time Use Research (CTUR) at the University of Oxford and the Minnesota Population Center (MPC). The dataset is administered by the CTUR while the MPC is the responsible for the dissemination system. AHTUS-X is an online data access system and available free of charge to registered users at www.ipums.org/timeuse.

Archived versions of the data have been stored in fixed format files with accompanying documentation and set-up files. The full data set has been broken into appropriate subsets reflecting the content and usage of the data.
