Full Count Data: Version 1.0

Minnesota Population Center and Ancestry.com. IPUMS Restricted Complete Count Data: Version 1.0 [dataset]. Minneapolis, MN: University of Minnesota, 2013. https://doi.org/10.18128/D014.V1.0

DESCRIPTION

IPUMS USA makes full count U.S. Census microdata from the period 1850 to 1940 freely available to researchers. This dataset includes over 650 million individual records. The microdata represents the fruition of longstanding collaborations between IPUMS and the nation's two largest genealogical organizations - Ancestry.com and FamilySearch - to leverage genealogical data for scientific purposes. This microdata collection is possible due to the donations of an unprecedented scale of digitized census data by both Ancestry.com and FamilySearch. IPUMS is continually improving the quality of these datasets by removing duplicate records, improving identification of household groups, applying numeric codes to the transcribed responses, etc.
